What is Artie?

Artie is a fully managed real-time data replication platform that streams data changes from production databases to data warehouses with sub-minute latency and exactly-once delivery. It eliminates the need for companies to build and maintain their own Kafka stacks, Debezium configurations, or custom CDC tools. Artie uses change data capture (CDC) to read directly from database replication logs, capturing every insert, update, and delete as it happens, then streams these changes continuously to your warehouse in under 60 seconds.

Key features include automatic schema evolution, schema change alerts, column-level masking and hashing, partitioned table support, history mode, real-time monitoring via an analytics portal, and integrations with Datadog, Terraform, and Snowflake Eco mode. The platform supports 14+ source databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, SQL Server, and MongoDB DocumentDB, and 12+ destinations including Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, ClickHouse, and Amazon S3 Tables. Artie scales to billions of change events per day and offers both cloud-based and on-premise (BYOC) deployment options.

Artie is built for data engineers, engineering managers, and AI/ML teams who need live production data in their warehouses for AI agents, real-time dashboards, A/B testing, fraud detection, and customer-facing analytics. It's ideal for companies tired of stale data from batch ETL processes running every few hours or overnight, and for teams that want the streaming pipelines and observability that Netflix, DoorDash, and Instacart built in-house without hiring 10+ engineers and spending 1-2 years on platform work.

Artie pricing

Pricing model: Freemium

Artie offers two pricing plans: Cloud and Enterprise. Cloud is usage-based pricing starting at $500/month minimum (billed annually upfront) with automatic volume-based discounts, ideal for lower-volume or variable-usage customers who want flexibility. Enterprise combines a fixed annual platform fee with a low locked-in per-unit usage rate for predictability and economies of scale, best for higher-volume customers including BYOC/on-premise deployments. A free 14-day trial is available with full access to Artie's features excluding on-premise deployment, no credit card required. Backfills are always free for both plans. Cloud includes unlimited users, RBAC, sub-minute syncs, SSH tunnels, automatic schema evolution, schema change alerts, column exclusion & hashing, partitioned table support, history mode, analytics portal, monitoring & alerting, Snowflake Eco mode, Datadog integration, Terraform support, and customer support via Slack. Enterprise includes all Cloud features plus on-premise (BYOC) deployments, dedicated Kafka & Kubernetes cluster, white-glove onboarding, 24/7 support, and guaranteed incident management support times. Artie can also be purchased via AWS Marketplace for streamlined procurement.

Frequently asked questions about Artie

How much does Artie cost?

Artie has two pricing plans. Cloud pricing is usage-based, starting at $500/month. Charges are based on the change logs processed after the initial snapshot of your deployments, which vary depending on your data sources and business needs. Enterprise combines a fixed annual platform fee with a low, locked-in per-unit usage rate for predictability and economies of scale.

What are my billing options?

We offer two pricing plans — Cloud and Enterprise — backfills are free for both plans. Cloud is a pay-as-you-go model with a $500/month minimum (billed annually upfront) and automatic volume-based discounts, ideal for lower-volume or variable-usage customers. Enterprise combines a fixed annual platform fee with a low, locked-in per-unit usage rate for predictability, best for higher-volume customers including BYOC/on-premise.

How long can I trial Artie?

We offer a free, no-risk trial for up to 14 days to explore Artie's full feature set. No credit card is required. If you need additional time or wish to pause your trial during evaluation, please contact us to adjust the trial period.

What's included in the free trial?

The free trial provides full access to Artie's features, excluding on-premise deployment. This includes unlimited users, RBAC, sub-minute syncs, SSH tunnels, automatic schema evolution, schema change alerts, column exclusion & hashing, partitioned table support, history mode, analytics portal, monitoring & alerting, Snowflake Eco mode, Datadog integration, Terraform support, and customer support via Slack. If you'd like to test on-premise, please contact us.

Does Artie store any data?

No, Artie does not store any of your data. We transfer data securely from your source to destination, with encryption both at rest and in transit. Artie reads from your replication log and streams to your destination. Credentials are encrypted at rest and data is encrypted end-to-end. For additional security, Artie supports deployment in your VPC and advanced networking options like AWS PrivateLink and Snowflake Key-Pair Authentication.

What is a connection?

A connection is the link between your source database and destination. Each connection includes the flexibility to sync only the schemas or tables you need. You do not have to move all your data when setting up a connection - you can exclude schemas or tables that are not relevant to your needs.

How does Artie impact my database performance?

Artie uses log-based replication, reading directly from transaction logs without querying your database. This means it has minimal impact on database performance. For historical backfills, we recommend using a read replica to minimize impact.

Are backfills really free?

Yes! We believe healthy data pipelines shouldn't require frequent backfills. While they may be necessary for onboarding or specific cases, we'll never charge for them. Backfills are free for both Cloud and Enterprise plans.

What sources and destinations does Artie support?

Artie supports multiple sources including PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora/RDS, GCP CloudSQL, Supabase, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Oracle, CockroachDB, Amazon Keyspaces (Cassandra), and an Events API. Destinations include Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MotherDuck, S3, GCS, Iceberg REST Catalog, and Amazon S3 Tables.
