Do viewers need to sign up for a display.dev account?
No. Viewers use the Google or Microsoft account they already have for work. If their email matches your company's domain, they're in automatically. On the Free plan, viewers get a one-time password link by email instead of needing SSO.
Does this work with tools other than Claude Code?
Yes. Anything that writes an HTML or Markdown file to disk works—Codex, Cursor, shell scripts, CI pipelines. The CLI doesn't care what generated the file. You can also publish via MCP (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) or the web upload flow.
How does the comment loop work?
Teammates drop inline comments directly on the published artifact page. Your agent reads those comments over MCP, ships the fix, and republishes using the artifact ID and base version. The thread gets resolved and the updated version appears at the same permanent URL. No license needed to comment, and no single agent is locked to updates.
How is this different from Claude Code Artifacts?

What audit info do I get?

What's the catch with unlimited viewers?
No catch. Display.dev prices on storage and auth capabilities, not seats. They want you to share broadly. Per-seat pricing punishes broad sharing, and they don't do that. Whether you share with 10 people or 1,000, the price stays the same on every plan.
Why not just use my AI vendor's built-in publishing?
