What is DrawingPics?

DrawingPics is a native Mac application that transforms your hand-drawn sketches into real images in real time. As you draw on the left side of the interface, a realistic picture instantly appears on the right side—no generate button, no waiting. The app runs fully offline, powered by Apple's Neural Engine through Core ML, ensuring your sketches never touch the cloud.

Key features include real-time magic where every stroke updates the picture instantly, the ability to start from rough stick figures and iterate until perfected, a built-in style picker for anime, photorealistic, oil painting, and sci-fi looks, and tuning controls for prompt strength and sketch-following precision. The app is rebuilt natively for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4), delivering fast, smooth performance with lower memory and battery usage.

DrawingPics is designed for creators who want instant AI art generation without subscriptions or cloud dependency. It's perfect for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone who wants to visualize their sketches immediately. The app requires macOS 13+ and works exclusively on Apple Silicon Macs, with over 1000 creators already using it.

The application offers two workflows: Draw and Sketch, with local unlimited image generation. Users pay once and keep creating forever without recurring fees. The app collects only error/crash logs and anonymous usage statistics, with all data stored locally on your computer.

Frequently asked questions about DrawingPics

What is DrawingPics?

DrawingPics is a native Mac app that turns your sketches into real images in real time. As you draw on the left, a real picture appears on the right—instantly, fully offline, powered by Apple's Neural Engine.

What's new in v2?

v2 is a fully native Mac app accelerated with Core ML on the Apple Neural Engine. The result is much faster image generation, smoother real-time drawing, and lower memory and battery usage on Apple Silicon.

Which platforms does the offline app support?

The app is built natively for Apple Silicon and supports Macs with M-series chips running macOS 13+. Intel Macs are not supported, and there are no near-future plans for Windows.

What should I do if the model download fails?

If the model download fails, try clicking the retry button. If the issue persists, check your network connection or consider using a mirror download URL. Refer to documentation at docs.drawing.pics for more information.

How long does it take to generate 1 image?

On a 16GB M1 MacBook Air, a 512×512 image takes about 3 seconds. v2 runs entirely on Core ML and the Apple Neural Engine, so it stays fast even on the base M1.

Can I use other models?

Right now you use the model provided with the app. Every model must be converted to Core ML before running on the Neural Engine, and the app ships with one carefully tuned model. More styles will be converted and released over time.

Can I use the image I generated for commercial use?

It depends on the model you use. Follow the model's license when downloading from authors. Many models are under the CreativeML Open RAIL-M license, which allows commercial use.

How is my data handled?

This is a completely offline app once setup is complete. Your data will only be stored on your computer. The app collects only error and crash logs along with anonymous usage statistics.

Can I get a refund?

No, but they offer a free trial. Try it before making a purchase. If you encounter any issues, send an email to [email protected].

How do I activate the license?

Download the Mac app and activate it with your license key after purchasing. The Personal license activates 1 Mac, while the Family/Studio license activates up to 3 Macs, both with lifetime updates.
