Can the Fathom Notetaker join my calls without me?

No, Fathom can only record a Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet call if you are also present on the call. If the meeting ends, Fathom will automatically stop recording. This ensures consent and transparency for all meeting participants.

How many recordings can I have in Fathom?

Both Free and Premium users can store unlimited recordings in Fathom forever. There is no limit on recordings per month, and Fathom will store all your recordings indefinitely without expiration.

Can I record calls without asking for permission?

No, there's no way to silently record. On both the previous version and the bot-free experience, there is always some form of visibility or consent mechanism so all participants know Fathom is recording. This maintains transparency and privacy compliance.

Does Fathom provide real-time transcription?

Yes, the new bot-free Fathom desktop experience includes a live summary that updates in real-time during your meeting. This allows you to see what's being transcribed and summarized as the conversation happens.

Can Fathom Record Multiple Meetings at the Same Time?

Fathom can only join one meeting at a time. You can use Fathom to join different meetings throughout your day, but if you have overlapping meetings, Fathom will record whichever meeting you join first and won't be able to capture the second simultaneously.

Is Fathom compatible with Zoom for Government or Teams for Government?

No, for security reasons Fathom does not currently support Zoom for Government or Teams for Government. Fathom wishes to work with government users but cannot due to these security requirements.

What devices is Fathom compatible with?

Fathom is currently able to record meetings on Mac and Windows computers only. It does not support Chromebooks, Linux computers, or mobile devices. The desktop app is available for both macOS and Windows.

Can I upload an external recording into Fathom for analysis?

No, Fathom can only record and transcribe live meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. Uploaded calls are not supported. This limitation applies to all Fathom plans and is a current product constraint.
