How do I create a compute key?
Once your project has available balance from donations, a verified maintainer can create a compute key with a dollar limit chosen by you. The limit is reserved from the project balance. The key is shown once in the browser, then should be stored in your local credential store or tool configuration.
What CLI tools are supported?
The opub CLI supports Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, Vibe, OpenCode, and Continue. You use opub setup to store the compute key and opub run to start the agent with proper credentials and MCP session context.
Can I use the compute key without the CLI?
Yes. The API key can be used directly with any OpenAI-compatible tooling for unlinked use. This path still spends from the project balance but doesn't show the Linked badge that signals donor impact.
