What happens if the AI makes a mistake?
AI extraction is highly accurate but not perfect. It can misread handwritten notes, miss context in unusual layouts, or occasionally summarize complex findings in ways that lose nuance. Every document keeps the original file, extracted text, and a visible confidence score. Low-confidence extractions are flagged for you to verify. You can edit any record directly, and your edits override the AI's interpretation.
Who can I invite to my care circle?
You can invite anyone who loves your person: siblings, parents, partners, cousins, even healthcare professionals like an RN family member. Invite with just an email—no app downloads needed. Everyone sees the same documents, notes, and timeline. Your private notes stay private even inside the circle. You are responsible for inviting only people who should have access to that circle's information.
Is my medical data private and secure?
Yes. Sensitive fields like chat messages, journal entries, and patient names are encrypted at rest. All traffic is TLS encrypted in transit. Uploaded files live behind signed, time-limited URLs that expire after 5 minutes. Your data isn't sold to advertisers, not shared with advertisers, and not used to train AI models. Every record is scoped to a care circle, so members of one circle cannot see data in another.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can download your full circle—documents, notes, timeline—as a ZIP anytime from inside the app. You can delete individual items or delete your entire account. Account deletion removes all data KeptWell holds for you within 30 days. Deleted files are removed from object storage within 30 days. You own everything you put into KeptWell; they just hold it on your behalf.
What third parties does KeptWell share data with?
KeptWell uses a small set of carefully chosen third parties: Anthropic (processes documents and chat through Claude API with a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement), Cloudflare (stores files in R2 object storage with signed URLs), database and infrastructure providers (host PostgreSQL and application servers), Sentry (receives scrubbed error reports), and an email delivery service (sends sign-in links and notifications). They share only what each needs to do its job.
What if I'm helping from out of state?
You don't have to wait for a phone call or guess at what the appointment said. Everyone in the circle sees the same documents, notes, and timeline, updated the moment something lands. You can see what your parent saw at the same time, read the doctor's note directly instead of a summary, and keep your own private notes too. This is specifically one of the use cases KeptWell is built for.
What age do I need to be to use KeptWell?
You must be at least 18 years old to create a KeptWell account. The service is built for adults coordinating care for family members. If a circle is created for a minor child receiving care, the adult who creates and manages the circle is responsible for the data inside it. KeptWell is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
