What is Notability Learn?
Learn is an AI tool that makes studying simple by automatically creating summaries, quizzes, flashcards, and fill-in-the-blanks from your notes, PDFs, or recordings. To use it, open a note or PDF, tap the sparkling page icon in the top right, review the summary, then tap Study to begin with quizzes, flashcards, or fill-in-the-blank exercises.
What subscription do I need for Learn?
Learn is only available to Notability Plus and Pro subscribers with app version 14.10 and newer. It is not available on managed devices (MDM). The Plus tier includes 400 questions and flashcards combined monthly, while Pro has unlimited usage.
Why isn't a quiz being generated from my notes?
The content must be at least 250 words but should not exceed approximately 20,000 words. If your note is too short or too long, Learn will not generate a quiz.
Can I export a quiz or add it to my notes?
Currently, exporting a quiz or adding it to a note is not available in Notability. Quizzes can only be used within the app's study interface.
Can I select multiple notes to create one quiz?
No, at this time a quiz can only be created with one note. Notability does not support combining multiple notes for quiz generation.
What languages does Learn support?
Learn will automatically detect the input language and generate a summary or quiz in that language. There is no need to manually select the language.
In which regions is Learn available?
The Learn feature is available in all regions except China Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau. Users in these excluded regions cannot access the feature.
How does Notability handle my data with Learn?
Notability does not use your data to train AI systems or Large Language Models (LLMs). They never access your notes unless you give explicit permission or it's required by law, and they do not sell your data.
What is Smart Notes?
Smart Notes gives you a summary of your notes with real-time updates as you work. Pro subscribers can access this feature by tapping the document button at the top right. It summarizes handwritten, audio recording, or typed text content.
What is Chat with your Notes?
Chat with your Notes is a Pro feature that allows you to ask questions about info in your notes and get instant explanations for quicker learning. Pro subscribers can tap the Chat button at the bottom right of the Smart Notes screen to access this AI chatbot.
