What is Owl-24?
Owl-24 is a production monitoring and error-triage service for development teams that detects failures every minute, deduplicates them into grouped errors, and optionally performs AI root-cause analysis. It queues errors for coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor to investigate, write fixes, and open pull requests, with a human always reviewing and merging.
Owl-24 pricing
Pricing model: Freemium
Pay-per-use AI root-cause analysis at $0.10 per credit; a small one-time charge applies the first time an agent claims a queued item (same item never billed twice); queueing errors is free
Owl-24 pros
- Minute-level failure detection with alerts via email, Slack, or webhook, and deduplication of identical failures into grouped errors
- Agent work queue with claim/resolve semantics, MCP and REST integration for Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients
- AI root-cause analysis is opt-in, pay-per-use ($0.10/credit), never automatic
- PII (card numbers, emails, phone numbers, secrets) masked inside the SDK before leaving the server; one-line SDKs for Node.js, Python, Go, and Java
Owl-24 cons
- Agent access and MCP integration are in beta
- PII masking is a compensating control, not a certification; names, addresses, and free-text fields aren't covered, and raw OTLP arrives unmasked
- A one-time charge applies when an agent first claims an item and is not refunded if the item is released instead of fixed
Frequently asked questions about Owl-24
Does Owl-24 write code or open pull requests itself?
No. Your own coding agent (e.g., Claude Code or Cursor) does the fixing and PR on your subscription and repo access; Owl-24 never writes code, touches git, or opens a pull request. Nothing merges without a human decision.
How do coding agents connect to the error queue?
Via the owl24-mcp package (e.g., 'npx -y owl24-mcp' with an OWL24_API_KEY) for MCP clients like Claude Code and Cursor, or via the REST API and an AGENTS.md file for CI.
Are AI analyses charged automatically?
No. Root-cause analysis is opt-in and only runs when you click it, at $0.10 per credit — never automatic or in the background.
