How do artists earn money on Tess?
Artists who create public models earn money through a revenue sharing program. When users generate images with an artist's style, Tess pays out a royalty from generation fees directly to the artist. Tess splits generation revenue 50/50 with the artist, similar to Spotify's model.
What do I need to create a private model?
To create a private model, you need between 5-20 images in a similar style. The more images you provide, the better the model will be at generating images in your style. You also need to complete an artist profile to verify ownership of original training works.
What aspect ratios does Tess support?
Tess supports vertical (9:16), landscape (16:9), square (1:1), 3:2, and OpenGraph image sizes. Users can choose the aspect ratio in the generations modal.
How does style strength work?
Tess users can configure the strength of the model in the generated image. Increase strength to make images more similar to the artist's visual style, or decrease to make it more generic. If an image is unrealistic, decreasing style strength may make subjects more realistic. The default is 80%.
What image editing tools are available?
Tess includes a magic eraser in the 'Remove Object' feature to select and blur areas, making objects disappear. There's also faceswap to sub in faces for more realism, generate variations brush to reimagine sections, and static upscale to increase resolution and fix precision issues.
Is Tess available for commercial use?
Yes, images generated on Tess can be used for personal or commercial purposes. Enterprise plans are specifically designed for creative teams looking to create larger quantities of images over the course of a year for commercial use.
How do I get access to Tess?
Tess is currently in beta and onboarding interested artists and customers. To join the waitlist, sign in at tess.design and the team will be in touch. Those with access can sign in using the same email address indicated in their Contributor Agreement.
What's the difference between private and public models?
Private models are created for personal use and you don't need to make them public. Public models allow artists to earn money when their model is used by others. To create a public model and start earning, you must agree to the Tess Contributor Agreement outlining terms of use.
Can I upload my own image to transform?
Yes, in the 'Image' tab you can upload an image and write a description of what items are in it. Your description strongly influences the output, so include details you want to preserve. A thumbnail of the reference image will be included in resulting generations.
