Thinkbuddy is an all-in-one AI platform that unifies 15+ leading AI models including ChatGPT (GPT-4o), Claude (Claude 3.5), Gemini (Gemini 1.5 Pro), Deepseek v3, and Groq into a single seamless interface. It eliminates the need for multiple subscriptions by providing access to all major AI models through one competitively priced package. The tool is designed for Mac users with deep macOS integration and is also available on web with Windows coming soon.

Key features include voice input powered by OpenAI's Whisper for high-quality dictation, screenshot-based queries where you capture your screen and ask AI for help, and drag-and-drop or select-text execution for seamless workflow integration. Users can create and save custom prompts, customize shortcuts for instant personalization, and switch between AI models at the prompt level without extra costs. The platform offers Remix mode that combines answers from multiple AI models into a single synthesized response, scheduled messages for queuing requests, local-first privacy with opt-in cloud sync, and advanced TTS for large documents.

Thinkbuddy is ideal for students writing essays, writers doing creative work, developers reviewing code, business analysts conducting market analysis, graphic designers suggesting color palettes, and any productivity-focused professional who wants to supercharge their workflow with multi-model AI access without managing API keys or multiple subscriptions.

Frequently asked questions about Thinkbuddy

How do you afford to give out a basic version?

Yes, the majority of customers enjoy Thinkbuddy without any payment. The company offsets a significant portion of the cost for basic plan users through paid subscriptions. Should you decide to upgrade to the pro version, you can do so for a bit more than the cost of a coffee.

Do I need an API key?

No, you do not need an API key. Thinkbuddy is a Mac app that provides AI help without needing any external API keys. The team uses a proxy system that removes personally identifiable information when sending prompts to third-party AI providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

What data do you store?

All user data including chat logs, files, and prompts is stored locally on your device (Mac or browser storage) by default. No data is sent to the cloud unless you explicitly opt in. If you enable cloud sync via Firebase, your data is securely stored and synced across devices. We collect anonymized usage statistics not tied to your identity. If you create an account, we collect email and subscription details for authentication and billing.

How are you integrated with MacOS?

Thinkbuddy is deeply integrated with macOS with a menu bar icon for easy access. You can click the Thinkbuddy icon in your Mac's menu bar to open the chat interface. The app supports keyboard shortcuts, voice commands via space bar or mic icon, screenshot queries, and select-text execution. It provides a native-like experience optimized for Mac with clutter-less interactions.

Why charge a monthly subscription?

Monthly subscription covers the costs of accessing multiple premium AI models (GPT-4o, Claude 3.5, Gemini 1.5 Pro, Deepseek v3, Groq) without requiring separate subscriptions. The subscription provides TB credits that determine usage limits, unlimited model switching, cloud sync, and all advanced features like Remix mode, voice input, and custom prompts.

Where can I submit my feature ideas?

You can submit feature ideas by reaching out to the team via text on their contact page or by sending a video explanation to [email protected]. Customer satisfaction is their top priority and they gladly provide answers and accept feature suggestions.

What is Remix mode?

Remix mode combines answers from different AI models into a single synthesized answer. You can enable Remix when selecting multiple models, or apply it to existing multi-model answers afterward. This feature helps you get a unified perspective instead of reading separate responses from each model.

How does voice recording work?

Press the space bar or click the microphone icon to start speaking. When done, press enter to send your voice message. You can also click the stop button to review the transcription before sending. The enhance voice option reduces background noise and improves speech clarity for clearer and more fluid voice inputs. Voice transcription uses OpenAI's Whisper technology.

Can I schedule messages?

Yes, Thinkbuddy supports message scheduling so you don't need to wait for a response before sending a new message. Your new message will be queued and sent automatically once the previous response is complete. Access scheduled messages through the schedule button next to the send button, where you can also cancel pending requests.

What is the Fork feature?

Fork allows you to edit and resend your messages as well as retry AI responses. Previous messages and responses are preserved, enabling you to compare different versions of the conversation and switch between them to continue with different contexts. You can add new models, add Remix, retry, modify answers, listen to answers spoken aloud, or delete messages on any previous conversation point.
