What is Imaranda?
Imaranda is a collaborative platform that provides an innovative surface for teams to model questions and their answers collectively. It uses AI to guide discussions, ensuring clarity, structure, and actionable results without the chaos of typical chat apps or whiteboards. Designed for innovation-driven teams, it streamlines back-and-forth communication into unified insights, saving time and mitigating miscommunication on critical topics.
Key features include AI-powered moderation that asks relevant questions, creates focus areas, and structures inputs automatically. Teams can add comments precisely where they fit, use ChatGPT for brainstorming, provide feedback, connect ideas with arrows, and export data. It supports channels and threads, detailed documentation, and advanced summarization, making complex discussions manageable.
Imaranda is ideal for research teams, nonprofits, academics, and any group needing effective asynchronous collaboration. Whether starting with a single question or detailed context, users invite contributors to build on each other's thoughts efficiently. It's perfect for driving results from meetings, research, or innovation sessions without wasting time on formatting or endless loops.
The platform emphasizes short, precise comments to enhance understanding, with tools like tours for new users, suggested steps for annotation, and private add sections for longer texts. This hybrid of whiteboard and forum fosters breakthrough ideas and clear decision-making.

Frequently asked questions about Imaranda
How do I start and share a new board?
Click the menu at the top right corner, select 'New Board' to create one. Name it with the main question, then click the cog wheel on the board's overview to manage and invite team members. A short video tutorial is available explaining the process.
How do I interact with a board?
As creator, add the central topic or question, then create input areas around it; the app handles formatting. Configure a tour to guide contributors. As contributor, take the tour first, check what's new on returns, and follow suggested steps to annotate comments for clarity.
How do I add a comment?
Click anywhere on the board; it positions the comment in the appropriate section automatically. Use the add button for longer texts, which breaks them down into draggable short comments using full stops or line breaks.
Why can't I write longer comments?
Long comments are harder to understand and react to precisely, so there's a word limit to ensure clarity. For longer thoughts, add multiple short linked comments or use the add section to break them down.
How do I respond to another comment?
Use the +below button to add a comment below for questions or issues; this feature will be updated soon for better threading.
Can I link an external document or page?
Click on your comment, access the more menu under it, and select the add link button to attach external links.
How do I know when a discussion is finished?
Annotate comments as actionable results; the app suggests this and shows them in the results sidebar for review.
Can I export a board into a PDF?
Currently only plain text export is available, but more formats like PDF are coming soon.
How can I connect two comments?
Click the origin comment, select the connect button in its menu, then click the target comment to draw an arrowed line between them.
What does the tour do?
The tour provides a walkthrough of the board, helping users understand sections and existing comments, especially useful for first-time contributors.
