What is TickerDB?

TickerDB is a market intelligence database designed specifically for AI agents, providing pre-computed categorical market context instead of raw OHLCV data. It computes and caches daily or weekly snapshots for over 10,000 assets across 5 years of historical data, covering stocks, crypto, forex, metals, and indices. The service transforms complex market data into categorical vocabulary like 'oversold', 'uptrend', and 'deeply_overvalued' that LLMs can reason about directly.

Key features include a powerful search endpoint with up to 10 filters on Pro plans, watchlist monitoring with state change tracking via webhooks, full market summaries with technical/fundamental/analyst data in one response, and 140+ queryable fields. The platform offers MCP server integration for Claude Desktop, OpenClaw support, and native SDKs for Python, Node.js, and Go. Every tool returns pre-computed market-state data with categorical facts and supporting metadata.

TickerDB is built for AI developers, quantitative traders, and teams building trading bots, analysis tools, or financial applications. It's ideal for workflows agents typically struggle with: watchlist monitoring, market scanning for specific conditions (oversold stocks, strong uptrends), and querying historical precedent for specific market setups.

Frequently asked questions about TickerDB

What makes TickerDB different from other financial APIs?

TickerDB is a categorical-first market intelligence database, not just an API that returns price data. The search endpoint lets you run arbitrary filters across categorical signals and supporting metadata fields including trend, momentum, volatility, volume, and more. You query it like a database, not just fetch data for a ticker. Responses use terms like oversold, uptrend, and deeply_overvalued - the same vocabulary LLMs use to reason about markets.

What do I get during the beta?

During beta, every new account is automatically set to the Individual Pro tier for free with no credit card required. The Starter, Plus, and Pro plans shown on the pricing page are the standard individual plans that will take effect after beta. Business plans are not part of the beta launch and are coming soon.

Why is the schema always free?

Agents need to see what's queryable before they can use the database effectively. Gating schema access would make the product harder to adopt, so it's free on every plan including the Starter tier. Schema requests cost 0 credits.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll continue to have full access to your plan until the end of your current billing period - they don't cut off access early. Your plan simply won't renew after that.

What payment methods do you accept?

They accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your card details are never stored on their servers.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes to both. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period so you keep your existing access until then.

What's the difference between Individual and Business?

Individual plans are for one user. Business plans are the planned team tiers for organizations that need shared seats and higher limits, and they are coming soon. During beta, all accounts are individual accounts provisioned on Individual Pro for free. Both Individual and Business plans are internal use only. Business adds team seats and higher limits, but it does not add customer-facing, redistribution, or third-party delivery rights.

Can I use TickerDB in a customer-facing product or AI assistant?

No. Standard Individual and Business plans are internal use only. You can use TickerDB in internal research workflows, internal tools, trading systems, and internal agents used by you or your team. You cannot expose TickerDB-backed outputs to customers or third parties, even if the output is rewritten, summarized, scored, or otherwise transformed. If you need customer-facing or redistribution rights, contact them to discuss a separate agreement.

How do team seats work?

Business plans include team seats - 3 for Business Plus, 10 for Business Pro. The team owner invites members by email via the /v1/team API or the dashboard. Each member gets their own API key and account, but rate limits are shared across the team. When a member is removed, they're automatically downgraded to the Starter tier.

How much does each API request cost?

Most endpoints cost 1 credit per request. Watchlist GET costs 1 credit per ticker in the request - for example, fetching a watchlist with 10 saved tickers costs 10 credits. Summary event lookups with cross-asset context cost 2 credits. Schema requests cost 0 credits.
