Frequently asked questions about Voicenotes
What languages do you support for transcription?
Voicenotes supports English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and 60+ other languages with automatic language detection. You can even switch mid-sentence without worrying about setup. If you speak in an unsupported language like Malayalam, select English as your preferred language and it will provide human-level accurate translation to English.
Can I import recordings from other tools?
Yes, imports are available on the Pro plan. You can upload old audio files from other recording tools, and Voicenotes will transcribe, summarize, and index them so your AI can learn your recording history immediately. This includes unlimited audio imports and storage.
Do you train any models on my data?
No. Voicenotes does not train on your data, and third parties like OpenAI or Anthropic cannot use your data to train their AI models. Your voice and notes stay yours permanently. All data is encrypted at rest and only accessible via your authenticated request.
Is Voicenotes SOC 2 compliant?
Yes, Voicenotes is SOC 2 compliant via Vanta and is SOC 2 Type II certified with independently audited security controls. It's also GDPR compliant to meet global data protection standards. All data is encrypted at every stage and never used for AI training.
Are my notes really private?
Yes. All notes are secured on the cloud, not used for AI training, and only retrieved upon authenticated user requests. The founders (Jijo & Aleesha) originally built Voicenotes as a personal passion project and used it for their most personal notes, so privacy was designed from the start knowing they'd eventually hire team members.
What AI models do you use?
Voicenotes uses best-in-class models including GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet for most tasks. For features like Related Notes that don't require high intelligence, they sometimes use faster models like Claude Haiku.
Some features on the web are not available on mobile apps. Why?
Some features are still in development or rolled out first on web version to test and refine before bringing to mobile. Mobile apps have different design constraints and technical considerations like screen size and platform requirements. Every new update must undergo platform review and elaborate approval process by Apple/Google before becoming available to users, causing new features to lag behind web version. The team aims to provide consistent experience across platforms as they continue updating.
I just lost a note that I recorded. Help?
Note loss is super rare (1 in 1000) but usually relates to bad network or browser/device issues. If the audio was successfully uploaded, you can retry transcription and title creation from the Web interface.
How do I contact you for support?
For quick responses to feedback, shoutouts, use-cases, or feature requests, tweet at @voicenotesai or share a post in their Reddit community. To report issues and raise support tickets, email [email protected]. They read every email, share issues with the dev team promptly, and resolve issues at the earliest - sometimes even before you receive the reply email.

Yes, if you're a creator or influencer who wants to share Voicenotes with your community, you get to keep 20% of the sales through refer.voicenotes.com. The program encourages spreading the word about Voicenotes.
